When one of our own comes under fire, it’s our priority to send signal flares and covet their survival. One of Lowell’s most dynamic institutions is under the gun. UnchARTed Gallery of 103 Market Street is facing the kind of long standing, economic hardships many other small businesses are battling today. Overhead costs hit hard when the market’s unforgiving upon time of purchase. Luckily, with the community rallying for support, this venue has a plan for tenure.
The owner, Michael F. Dailey Jr., is hands on with his product and service to his customers. From offering a live music experience associated with local artists, tactile and yearning to engage, to it’s superior food and beer selection, this venue has held down a decade’s worth of patrons that’s unrelenting. Other businesses cater to stadium adrenaline, testerone and domestic beer. Their business model focuses around location and alcohol; understandable survival tactics in today’s jungle. Yet, these businesses lack the kind of grassroots engagement that UnchARTed has come to offer. He’s asking for a deeper engagement than passive glances at a ball game. He wants to facilitate a community and their needs. Lowell’s diverse culture holds the kinds of opportunities for young bands to gain ground at a venue like this. Not many other businesses have their ear to the ground.
This is a call to arms. After cruising through year three at their current location, trying times have put a damper on their ever-growing progress. They’re in need of community support; the inverse of what they’ve established for the Lowell community. They’re asking for outpouring support for their sustainability and future. Money is their goal but creating momentum through social media is welcomed and encouraged. If anyone who’s ever taken to UnchARTed with no expectations and gained a meaningful memory, we encourage you to donate to their GoFundMe page.
UnchARTed is unlike any other venue in the area and wants to continue servicing the Merrimack Valley with the kind of culture its people want! Donate to a venue, save a venue!
